Impact

What the numbers say

We publish what we spend and what it produces. Below: our record since 1998, the conditions our scholars are up against, and every Form 990 we have filed.

The record

2,463 High school diplomas awarded since 1998
2,437 Scholarships in the last six years
15 Partner schools across three countries

The gap

What our scholars are up against

These are the conditions in the regions where we work. Every scholarship is a decision to change one of these numbers by one.

This is the argument for the whole programme: finishing school is what moves a girl from one side of this comparison to the other. Source

Return

What a diploma is worth

15–25% higher wages

Each additional year of secondary education raises a woman’s eventual earnings by 15 to 25 percent, with a larger effect for girls than for boys. Source

Later marriage, later children

Girls who stay in school are dramatically less likely to be married as children or to leave education because of pregnancy.

The effect compounds

An educated woman is more likely to educate her own children, which is why a single scholarship rarely stops with a single scholar.
